Cuando se niega una acción en pasado simple, hace su aparición el auxiliar Did en su forma negativa Did not o Did'nt. Devolviendo al verbo a su forma infinitivo ya sean verbos regulares o irregulares. Por ejemplo:

Forma negativa                       She did not love   (Ella no amó)

Con verbos irregulares
Forma afirmativa                     She drank             (Ella bebió)
Forma negativa                        She didn't drink?   (Ella no bebió)
